MAK PROJECTS LIMITED, one of the leading companies in the Ghanaian construction industry, was established in Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana in 2004 under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179). The company specialised in building, civil engineering, road construction, project, and cost management services. The company played an active role in the development of Ghana’s infrastructure through numerous contracts covering transportation, energy, environmental, health, educational, religious and industrial projects across Ghana. The Company is classified in Category D1K1 by the Ministry of Works and Water Resources and A2B2 by the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

MAK PROJECTS LIMITED, during its early years, operated from Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The contract to construct a kiln dryer, slicer bay, a warehouse and an office block for Esaase Wood Products limited was the company’s first major project in 2004. 

Later that year the company was awarded contract to renovate the offices of the Bank of Ghana and some of their bungalows. The company also constructed several building projects for the Kumasi Technical University between 2005 and 2014 including the Liberty Hall of residence, the B-Tech lecture hall and the Vice Chancellor’s residence. It also renovated several staff bungalows and supplied furniture and other equipment for the university. Between 2007 and 2010, MAK PROJECTS LIMITED constructed two new campuses for Ghana Institute of Languages in Legon – Accra and Tamale in the northern part of Ghana. These projects comprise the construction of 3-storey 12-unit lecture halls with offices, road works, external works, and other ancillary facilities. Within the same period, the company also undertook the construction of administration block, offices, and stores for the Akuse government hospital in the eastern region of Ghana.

In 2008, the company relocated its Head office to Accra, the capital of Ghana, while still maintaining a branch office in Kumasi. In 2010, the Millennium Development Authority sponsored by the Millennium Challenge Account of the United States selected MAK PROJECTS LIMITED among some other contractors to construct over 200 school buildings in various communities across the country. In the year 2011, the government of Ghana through the funding of the Ghana Education Trust Fund awarded 11 projects under the Schools Under Trees & Emergency Intervention Programme (SUTEmIP) to construct dining halls, dormitories, ICT centres, library blocks and classroom blocks in various communities across Ghana. MAK PROJECTS LIMITED has in 2014 undertook the construction of Integrated Social Centre and Market in Takoradi. 

This project comprises 70 market t stores, utility and warehouse buildings, restaurant and auditorium block, event ground, administration block and a hostel facility with all associated roadworks, drainage and bituminous surface parking lots for the Secondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the western region of Ghana. In most recent times, MAK PROJECTS LIMITED undertook the renovation of the 5 -storey 400 bed capacity Hall of residence and the 3-storey 18 units main lecture hall for the Ho Technical University. The company also constructed d the residence for the bishop emeritus of the catholic diocese of Ho.

MAK PROJECTS LIMITED is currently constructing a massive 3-storey 24-unit lecture hall with offices, auditorium and laboratories for the department of earth science at the University of Ghana, Legon and a 3-storey multipurpose hall with residential facilities for the Sacred Heart Cathedral parish at Ho in the Volta region of Ghana. On the other hand MAK PROJECTS LIMITED completed a number of prestigious residential buildings across the length and breadth of Ghana.
